Figure Captions and References

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This policy explains what Figure Captions and References (the "add-on"), made by Cedar Bench Labs ("we"), does with information when you use it in Google Docs.

In short: the add-on works on your document inside Google's systems. We never receive your document's text. The only thing that leaves Google is your license key, if you enter one, which is sent to our payment provider to check it.

What the add-on can access

When you install it, Google asks you to allow two things:

What we collect

Google user data

Figure Captions and References's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use document access only to provide the add-on's features to you, we do not transfer or sell your Google data, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

Sharing

We don't sell or share personal information, except with Polar for payments and license checks as described above, or when the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting data

Children

The add-on isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects what data leaves your document, we'll say so on this page before it takes effect.
